Support the Home Star Energy Retrofit Act of 2010

On Thursday, May 6, 2010, the House of Representatives will consider H.B. 5019, the Home Star Energy Retrofit Act of 2010, legislation that will incentivize home energy retrofits and increase employment in the construction and related sectors.
Home Star is a short-term program to create jobs, save energy, and lower families' energy bills. Home Star will restart the assembly lines at factories that manufacture energy efficiency technologies and will put construction workers back on the job installing these improvements in the homes of millions of American families.
I fully support this energy retrofit bill.

Solar Home and RV On The Road.

Adding PV solar panels and another battery to your RV will allow you to stay overnight without plugging in or firing up a generator.  Mobile power, peace and quiet.  What a great concept.

What is Solar?

Solar refers to energy that is collected from the sun. The sun and wind are renewable energy sources that do not produce green house gases that contribute to global warming. One the components needed to collect the sun's energy are assembled, solar energy is a free and non-polluting source of power. Currently, there are both State and Federal rebate programs that can lower the total installation cost by more than 1/2. For a typical home there are basically three types of solar energy systems commonly used. Passive solar energy, photovoltaic (PV) solar energy, and solar domestic hot water systems. Wind turbines or generators are also becoming very common for suitable sites.
